Shah Alam II" was the "Mughal emperor" who appointed the "east India company" as the "diwan of Bengal" on "12 August , 1765". This was done as a part of the "Treaty of Allahabad". This treaty was signed after the combined forces of "Shah Alam II", "Nawab of Bengal" and "Nawab of Awadh" were defeated in the Battle of Buxar.
