Dinabandhu Mitra, the Bengali dramatist, poet and literary figure is also known by the pen name of Kenchit Pothiken.

He is know for his famous play Nildarpan in which he wrote about the plight and sufferings and indigo farmers as well as about the Indigo Revolt of 1858. The drama is the first hand experience about the miseries of indigo farmers.
