Is it true that Nobita was real and suffering from schizophrenia and that he imagined Doraemon?
NO!
I don't know how or why this rumor started but it surely is not true.
The last episode of Doraemon is called Time Paradox.
In this Nobita comes crying to him asking for a gadget but Doraemon doesn't respond and all of a sudden falls down. Shocked and scared, Nobita contacts dorami-chan and she tells him that Doraemon must have run out of battery to which Nobita is relieved. But she further says that robots like them have support memory circuit that is used while replacing the battery but since Doraemon has already lost his ears so it is not possible. And even if they replace the battery all his memories will be erased which included the time that Nobita shared with him. To which Nobita suggests that they could just replace the battery by traveling to a factory in future but to this Doremi tells that intervention to his era is now prohibited and also their inventor's identity is hidden from them.
This incident affected Nobita severely and over the years he completely changed himself. He became one of the biggest scientists in Japan! Later Shizuka and Nobita get married.
In the last seen, Nobita calls Shizuka inside a room, where she was forbidden to enter earlier.
She is shocked to see Doraemon lying on the table. Nobita then clicked a button and in few minutes Doraemon starts moving and wakes up saying “Nobita, have you completed your homework?”.
Nobita and Shizuka have tears in their eyes and he hugs Doraemon the same way he did as a child.
