Ganesha also known as Lord ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He was created by Parvati using earth. one day Parvati set him on a guard while she bathed as Shiva was away on meditative wanderings. Unexpectedly Shiva returned home and seeing him got engaged. He himself lopped off his head. When Parvati explained to Shiva that it was their son. Shiva ordered to bring a head for him .He got a head from an elephant and became distinctive among Hindu gods.
