In primary succession pioneer species like lichen, algae and fungi as well as other abiotic factors like wind and water start to "normalize" the habitat. Primary succession begins on rock formations, such as volcanoes or mountains, or in a place with no organisms or soil.

Hope this helps!♡

The successions which originate in the areas where soil is not found or formed are Primary Successions.

It is usually seen on rocks, volcanoes or mountains. Lichen, algae and fungi are the pioneers in the primary succession.

An abiotic factor such as wind and water also start to normalize the habitat.

The early succession involves dispersion of seeds and spores.

The pioneer species grow on the rocks which are then broken down into smaller particles.
