Rabindranath Tagore authored the 'Gitanjali', an anthology of poems.  

'Gitanjali' is the most acclaimed and well-read book of Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941). Similarly, he received the world famous Nobel Prize in 1910. After this, he has been living on Indian literature throughout his life span.  

While continuing to be creative in various genres of literature, music and character art, he practiced Saraswati till the last breath and became distinguished as a master for Indians. Songs of Gitanjali, devoted to nature, love towards God and dedication to humanist values, have been inhabited in the souls of Bengali people since the last century. Through its translations in different languages, the readers of the world have done it.
