Jefferson Davis became the President of Confederacy in 1861. He served as the President until 1865.

He represented Mississippi in the House of Representatives and US Senate before switching sides. He was born in Fairview, Kentucky.

Historians blame the lack of leadership qualities in Davis as the main reason for the defeat against the Union army in the Civil War.
