Qutub ud din Aibak was the builder of Qutub minar. He built it after the defeat of the last Hindu kingdom in Delhi in 1193.

Around 1192, Qutub-ud-Din Aibak started the construction of Qutub Minar, but he could only construct the basement. Later the construction was taken over by his successor Iltutmish who constructed three more stories of the tower. Firoz Shah Tuglak constructed the last two storeys.
