The group of monuments at Pattadakal consists of nine hindi temples and one Jain temple.
The largest of all the temples- Virupaksha Temple was built by Queen Lokamahadevi.
The smaller version of the Virupaksha Temple is the one built by the second queen of Vikramaditya, Trilokyamahadevi, which is the Mallikarjuna Temple.
The oldest of all the temples- Sangameshvara temple was built by Vijayaditya, who was the Chalukya king.
The last temple built in early Chalukya style was the Kashivishvanatha temple built by the Rashtrakutas.
The Jain temple was also built by them.
