For any bird,  it is the Egg which came first.  Egg is evolved into its shape now.  Perhaps after millions of years / thousands of years ago the  cosmic radiation, sunlight and atmospheric conditions along with the Inorganic and organic contents (minerals and vitamins etc)  have combined constructively to form an egg.

A grown up  bird can only be a consequence of growth in some years of a new born baby chicken coming out from an egg.

An egg was formed by chemical combination and favorable reactions.

once upon a time  there lived a chicken-like bird. It was genetically close to a chicken .but not chicken .that female bird an eggthat was fertilised by another species of bird that made a  egg
 that is genetically similar to chicken egg. that egg gave birth to chicken
