Priors to the first true chicken ,there were non chickens. The DNA changes came about in cells housed in the egg. So the egg came first.....

By the saying of Rudolf Virchew a biologist, all cells are arrised from pre existing cells
therefore there must be a pre existing cell from which they arrised.
