Explanation:

1. Answer these questions.

a) The writer would witness an army of pipistrelles, swifts, and insects swarming the

area. Fruit bats came to feast on the wild figs and ‘false badam’ fruit trees in the

Jaldarshan garden.

b) The writer mentioned fifteen birds in the text; namely, kingfishers, sunbirds, tailor

birds, magpie robins, koels, sparrows, crows, rose-ringed parakeets, pigeons, shikras,

warblers, gulls, pipistrelles, swifts, and barn owls.

c) At dawn and dusk, the writer observed that bees work in a very organized and orderly

manner. Also, they are hard-working and unselfish—all for one and one for all. They

possess unity of effort and are clear communicators and tireless workers. Human society

would work more efficiently by consuming less and wasting less.
