They lived lives that were shut upon themselves, disconnected from the world as if they were living in catacombs. Its almost as if these children were not even on the surface of the earth but far under the radar of global attention. If these officials visited the slums then it would offer a window of opportunity to the slum children, more and more people would get to know about them and offer them assistance either financially or with donations that would help set up better amenities for the children to study.
