The Lok Sabha and the Rajya sabha can be summoned for a joint sitting by the president himself.
This joint sitting is presided by the main speaker of the lok Sabha . In his absence the deputy speaker will become the presiding incharge and if he too is in an absence then the deputy chairman of the Rajya sabha will take charge. Such summonings are among the most essential necessities which abstain the country from becoming politically disharmonious .
