⭐ Robert Harding Whittaker [27 December 1920 - 20 October 1980] an American ecologist in 1969 advocated a five - kingdom system of classification in which the whole living world has been classified into the following five kingdoms :

1) KINGDOM MONERA :
Prokaryotic organisms like bacteria and blue - green algae.

2) KINGDOM PROTISTS :
Unicellular eukaryotic organisms like protozoans and algae.

3) KINGDOM FUNGI :
Multicellular non - green organisms having plant - like thalloid body.

4) KINGDOM PLANTAE :
All multicellular green plants and advanced forms of algae.

5) KIMGDOM ANIMALIA :
All multicellular animals.
