The NSSO(National Sample Survey Organisation) under the Ministry of statistics and programme implementation of India carry
regular sample surveys to estimate poverty line in India.....Currently the established poverty line is Rs.816 in rural areas and Rs.1000 in urban areas.. .Hope it helps
