The Tomar Rajputs who ruled Delhi and its surrounding areas from the early medieval period up to the close of 12th century were defeated by the Turks in 1992 and thus ended their rule in Delhi.
Mahmud Ghori, the Turkish invader defeated the last Tomar King Prithvi Raj Chauhan in the Second Battle of Tarain in 1992 which ended the Tomar rule over Delhi and laid the foundation of Turkish rule in India.
