Based on his recommendations, the Indian government decided to set up two elite management institutes, named Indian Institutes of Management

Bal Krishna Doshi designed the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).

  • Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi, commonly known as B V Doshi. He is an Indian Architect.
  • He was born on 26th August 1927 in Pune, Bombay Presidency, British India.
  • He had worked under Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, he is a pioneer of modernist architecture in India.
  • The National Institute of Design appointed Louis Kahn and B.V. Doshi as architects to design the IIM's. Louis Kahn designed the IIMA project from 1962 until his death in 1974. B V Doshi designed IIM Udaipur, IIM Bangalore, etc.
  • B V Doshi received many awards such as Padma Bhushan , Padma Shri , Pritzker Prize  and Aga Khan Award for Architecture etc.
