Answer:

As a subjective opinion, I believe that anyone who would read the story would most probably sympathize with Philip rather than Uncle James.

I would sympathize with uncle James.

Explanation:

The reason is that in this story Uncle James is seen as a strict man who always likes everyone to follow the rules and regulations of his household. He is so strict that even the servants feel obligated to do exactly as he says no matter what any other member of the household would want. For example Philip wants breakfast after 8 but according to the rules breakfast is not served after 8. Even if Phillip came back after war, that should atleast mean something.

However, next Uncle James sees a dream in which Philip is threatening him which is why he loosens up a little on his dominating nature with Philip.SO i still feel bad and sympathetic for Philip, not his uncle.

Answer:

Explanation:

In the story "the Boy comes Home", the readers are introduced to two main characters, Phillips along with Uncle James.

We get to see that personality of Uncle James is quite a weak one even when we get to have an insight as to how strictly disciplined he is with his lifestyle choices. He wants to dominate the entire family without giving them a chance of liberty. On the other hand, we get to see that Phillips is actually quite carefree in his endeavor and hence is quite opposite.
