Yudhisthira sent his each brther one by one to collect the water form the lake in the forest.

The Yaksha resting beside the pond, warned the brothers not to drink water without its permission but they ignored it anyway and drank. As punishment for ignoring the warning, they all died as soon as they took one sip.

Yudhisthira then came for rescue, answered all the questions asked by Yaksha in return for his brothers' life.
