Answer:

THE CELL WAS DISCOVERED BY ROBERT HOOKE .

CELL THEORY

Cells are the basic unit of life.

The Cell Theory states that:

1) All organisms are made up of one or more cells and the products of  those cells.

2) All cells carry out life activities ( require energy, grow, have a limited size).

3) New cells arise only from other living cells by the process of cell division.

THE PARTS OF CELL ARE :-

1. Nucleus

2.Ribosome

3. Endopalsmic Reticulum

4. Golgi apparatus

5. Choloroplast

6. Mitochondia

THE USE OF CELL

It provides mechanical support to cell.

It allows all the substances to pass through it.

It maintains the shape of cell

Cell membrane provides support to cell.

It is helpful in exchange ofmaterials.

It gives shape to the cell

THE DIFFERENTIATION OF PLANT AND ANIMAL CELL

PLANT CELL

1. Plant cells have a cell wall surrounding the cell membrane

2.Plant cells contain chloroplasts which are used for photosynthesis

3.Plant cells have a large and permanent vacuole (it’s like a fluid sack), compared to an animal cell.

4. Cells in plants are more structured due to the cell wall, and form a lattice like structure which helps with rigidness.

ANIMALS CELL

1. Animal cells only have a membrane.

2. Absent in animal cell.

3. Animal cells have a small and temporary vacuole, compared to a plant cell.

4.Animal cells are ‘blobby

Answer:

☆DISCOVERY OF CELL:-

Cells were discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665. He discovered cells while observing a cork (dead cell walls of plant cells) under his microscope. He saw many box -like structures huddled together and separated by partitions. These box-like structure were actually dead cells. They appeared like a honeycomb. Further detailed studies on cells were conducted only about 150 years later after the invention of powerful microscopes. Living cells were observed by Anton Van Leeuwenhoek for the first time using improved microscopes.

☆PARTS OF CELL:-

The main parts of cell are as follows-

1.)Cell Membrane

2.)Cell Wall

3.)Cytoplasm

4.)Nucleus

5.)CellOrganelles

☆COMPARISON OF PLANT AND ANIMAL CELLS:-

■Plant Cells-

(i)They are mostly larger in size.

(ii)In plant cells, both cell membrane and cell wall are present.

(iii)Only one large central vacuole is present in plant cells, which takes up about 90% of the cell volume.

(iv)Centrioles and centrosomes are absent in plant cells.

(v)Plastids are usually present in plant cells.

(vi)Golgi bodies are not well-formed inplant cells.

■Animal cells-

(i)They are mostly smaller in size.

(ii)In animal cells, cell membrane is present, but cell wallis absent.

(iii)More than one smaller vacuoles are prent in animal cells.

(iv)Centrioles and centrosomes are prent in animal cells.

(v)Plastids ate usually absent in nimal cells;except the protozoan Euglena.

(vi)Golgi bodies are well -formed in animal cells.
