Cytoplasm was invented by Robert Brown in 1831, many years after the discovery of cell.

Cytoplasm fills up the entire space within the cell wall and contains all the cell organelles, like mitochondria, Golgi bodies, endoplasmic reticulum and lysosomes. Cytoplasm is a gel like substance that is constituted of cytosol, lipid droplet, starch particles and crystals of calcium oxalate or silicon dioxide.
