Anaxagoras was the first who suggested that the Sun is a star.
- In those days, the Sun was considered as a holy god driving a chariot through the sky by the Greeks. They named it 'Helios'.
- When astronomers and philosophers like Copernicus, Thales, and Anaxagoras (Greek Philosophers) started publishing their scientific thoughts regarding the solar system, the planets, and the stars they were threatened by the Church.
- Anaxagoras was eventually hanged for calling God Helios as a 'stone of fire'.
