The cell was discovered by the scientist Robert Hooke in 1665.While he examing a thin slice of cork(bark of tree) under his self designed microscope . He observed a honeycomb structure consisting of many little rooms.He gave the term cell for these little rooms. Cell is a latin word mean little room.
