Generally, I think, the people who lift their arms for the alms (offerings) are the poorest.
In addition, the people who reside in the slum areas of a city are also from the poor background and they are poor too. Slum is usually a part of a city where poor people reside in the buildings which are in the bad condition.
Various problems are being faced by the people residing in the slum areas of a city. They live in overcrowded homes. Ten people live in a single room which is meant to accommodate only two persons. Toilets are not well connected with the proper sewage system. They live with meager income which they cannot even suffice their hunger and they cannot educate their children with what they have.
They consume contaminated water which causes serious health hazards and much more problems they face in slum.Considering these things, I conclude that they are the poorest and from the slum.
