Which one has the most important job, a nurse or a teacher?
They are two completely different fields. Nursing has many teaching elements to it. Teaching patients and students, bring a university lecturer etc. but at the end of the day, a nurse knows healthcare and a teacher knows how to impart knowledge to students. As a nurse, I couldn’t stand up in a classroom and teach history. I could do basic maths but not Pythagoras theorem or complex algebraic equations. But a teacher couldn’t step in to a hospital and know what medications to give nor how they work or mix up an antibiotic and know how long they run for etc.
It’s 2 different fields and each practitioner of that field knows what they’re doing. Neither profession could function without the people trained to do the job.
I could be an asshole and say nursing is more important because nurses look after people in their time of need and teachers sit in a classroom. But when the teacher gets sick, a nurse and a Dr is needed to help them get better. And with no teachers, the hospital won’t have trained staff to help them. It wouldn’t work.
So neither job is less important than the other. Each job has its own skill set and it’s own group of people dedicated to the cause.
