In 1928 the British officials threw a challenge on the Indian leaders to prepare a daft of the constitution of India.The Indian leaders accepted the challenge and a committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Motilal Nehru to prepare a draft of the constitution. The draft was prepared and was called 'Nehru Committee Report' The report however was not accepted by the Assembly.
Therefore we can say that the first constitution was drafted by a committee under the chairmanship of Motilal Nehru.
