Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was known to the chief architect of the drafting of the Constitution of India.
The Constitution of India is the Supreme law in India which lays down the framework that defines the fundamental political principles, establishes the powers and duties of government institutions, fundamental rights, citizen's duties and directive principles.
After India got independence in 1947, the Constituent Assembly set up a drafting committee which consisted of members like Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, C. Rajagopalachari, Durgabhai Deshmukh, Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and many others.
B.N. Rau was the Constitutional Adviser for formulating the Indian Constitution in 1946 and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was made the chairman of the drafting committee along with 6 other members.
