The constitution of India was adopted on 26th January 1950 under the chairmanship of Dr B.R Ambedkar (Babasaheb Ambedkar) who was the chairman of drafting committee. It was completely handcrafted by the artists of Shantiniketan.

The original manuscript of the Constitution was entirely handcrafted by the artists of Shantiniketan (Bengal) under the guidance of Acharya Nandalal Bose while as the calligraphy texts was done by Prem Behari Narain Raizada in Delhi.

The Drafting Committee under the chairmanship of Bhim Rao Ambedkar drafted (preliminary version)  had drafted the constitution in February 1948. On 26th November the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India and came into force on 26th January 1950.
