 The president is the common head of all independent constitutional entities and the commander-in-chief of the Indian Armed Force.

The president is indirectly elected by Parliament of India  and the legislative assemblies of each of India who are all directly elected .Responsibility of president is to  protect the Constitution of India and its rule of law. The president is the most empowered defender of the constitution.

vice president -

The vice president is elected indirectly.He is elected by the  the voters of each state who involves in the  election of  the president and vice president. He later can be  served as the president.
