Answer:

Francisco de Almeida

Francisco de Almeida, (born c. 1450, Lisbon, Portugal—died March 1, 1510, Table Bay [modern Cape Town, South Africa]), soldier, explorer, and the first viceroy of Portuguese India.

He can be rightly called the real founder of the Portuguese power in India. He was a good administrator. He treated the Hindus as well and opened schools for their education. The Muslims became an enemy of the Portuguese because of their religious policy. He encouraged marriages between the Portuguese and the Indian women. He died at Goa in 1515.
