Babur established the Mughal Empire after defeating Ibrahim Lodhi in the 1st Battle of Panipat in 1526 A.D. He built a vast empire extending from Badakhshan to Bihar which was yet to be consolidated. The Mughals were the descendants of the Mongols of Mongolia in Central Asia. The usage of artillery in war and the arrangement of horses in such a way that they could easily be moved from one end of the battlefield to the other helped and gave a great advantage in the battle. Akbar the Great did Maximum expansion of the Mughal empire. it is mentioned in Tuzk-i-Baburi (Babur's autobiography) , that the mighty army of the Delhi Sultans was laid to dust in the course of Half a day.
