Hummingbirds feeds on small birds and lizard using its beak and narrow tongue
Hummingbirds belong to the Trochilidae family of birds, which are endemic to the Americas. They are distributed from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, with around 360 species, although the great majority of them are found in the tropics. Most species are tiny birds, measuring 7.5–13 cm (3–5 in) in length. The 5 cm (2.0 in) bee hummingbird, which weighs less than 2.0 g, is the smallest extant hummingbird species (0.07 oz). The 23 cm (9.1 in) gigantic hummingbird is the biggest hummingbird species, measuring 18–24 grammes (0.63–0.85 oz). Although they are specialised for flower nectar, all species eat flying insects or spiders.
