Jerome K Jerome was proud of his packing skills. The author along with his two friends George and Harris were planning to go on a two-week boating holiday. The author volunteers to do the packing as he was better at it than the other two.
Harris and George readily agreed to this. The author found this a bit strange on their part as he had actually intended to supervise the packing while they went about it. However, he did not say anything and packed everything only to find out that he had missed out on a toothbrush and a pair of boots. After a lot of repacking and unpacking, the author managed to pack the left out items. But, he found that he had ended up missing out on his tobacco pouch and soap.
Anyway after seeing Jerome's excellent packing skills, George and Harris decided to pack the food and supplies themselves without getting the author involved.
