=> A Dutch scientists, Avton Van Leeuwenhoek, was the first person to observe small organisms present in a drop of pond water in his microscope. What he had seen was the living cell.

=> Robert Hooke, was the first person who recognized the dead cell. observed a very thin piece of cork in his self - designed microscope. He saw a honeycomb - like structure which he named as cell, which means a small room, what he had seen was a dead cell of the cork.
