the jacobin club was led by maximilian robespierre.

robespierre's government issued laws placing a maximum ceiling on wages and prices.meat and bread was rationed. all citizens were forced to eat the 'pain d'égalité' (equality bread), loaf made of whole wheat. Equality was also sought to be practiced through forms of speech and address.
