Ahom Sabha or Ahom Sahitya sabha was formed by Padma Nath Gohain Baruah. Its main activity or purpose was to contribute to the development of the Assamese language, literature & culture.

Explanation:

• Till 1826 AD, the territory of Assam was ruled mainly by Kachari, Koch, and Ahom dynasties.

• Ahom Sahitya Sabha was also known as Assam Sahitya Sabha.
• It is a non-government, non-profit organization in Assam.

• Before forming the Ahom Sabha, Padma Nath Gohain Baruah had established Kohima Sahitya sabha at Kohima.
