The Anushilan Samiti was founded by Satish Chandra Basu with the backing of Pramathanath Mitra.  

Explanation:

In early 1902 Nivedita and Saradananda supported the Anushilan Samiti which was founded by Satish Chandra Basu. This was earlier a club which was used for lathi practice. Thereafter the Samiti was formed and the name was taken from Anushilan-Tattva which was the work of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.

The main objective of the Samiti was to encourage the total development of people in terms of their capabilities of physical, mental, moral and spiritual areas. The initial Samiti members were the young students from Kolkata who had come and joined the group.
