The modern classification of Schizophrenia symptoms was put forward by Leff in 1981. It divided the set of symptoms into positive and negative symptoms.
The positive symptoms refers to an excess in certain activities producing phenomenon such as delusions, disorganized behaviour and agitation.
The negative symptoms include depressed activities such as lack of emotional range.
