Answer: Abid Hasan Safrani, INA Major.

Explanation: Abid Hasan Safrani, an INA Major and a close trusted aide of Netaji  Subash Chandra Bose coined the slogan 'Jai Hind'.

He was born in Hyderabad into a family which opposed to colonial rule of one country by another. He was a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi and even had the privilege to spent some time at the Sabarmati Ashram.

Abid left for Germany to pursue engineering. It was there he first met Netaji Subash in 1941 during an interaction with the Indian prisoners of war.

He was deeply inspired by the ideologies of Netaji during his stay in Germany and soon gave up his studies to join as his personal secretary and interpreter.

Netaji wished to introduce a common form of greeting for his soldier in the army and also for an independent India. Many suggestions poured in but he decided to accept Abid's slogan 'Jai hind' as the official phrase for greeting in the army.
