- Bhanumati Annasaheb Rajopadhye, generally known as Bhanu Athaiya. She was born on 28th April 1929 in Kolhapur, Kolhapur State, British India.
- Bhanu Athaiya was an Indian costume designer. She designed costumes for over 100 films.
- She received Academy Award for Costume Design for Gandhi movie. She was the first Indian to win Academy Award. She is also the first Indian to win an Oscar award.
- She died on 15th October 2020 at the age of 91 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
