Dutch mathematician Willebrord Snellius rediscovered the sine law of refraction in 1621. Snellius' theory was not published in his lifetime and, in 1637, French natural philosopher Rene Descartes rediscovered the law again, independently.

Laws of reflection:-

1st law:-The incident ray, the reflected ray,and the normal at the point of incidence lie on the same plane.

2nd law:- The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection.
