Density = mass / volume so basically how much stuff in an amount of space. wood has a density of 650 kg/m3 and water has a density of 1,000 kg/m3. As you can see Water is more dense than wood therefore wood floats.

When we throw a wood into the water we notices that it flows over it which means that wood has lesser densiTy than water.

Therefore,

Water has more density.
