Answer:

It's not the Exact Answer but hope it helps!!

Explanation:

1. What is the basic concept of applied Anthropology?

Ans: The basic concept of applied anthropology is the application of the method

and theory of anthropology to the analysis and solution of practical problems

2. How do applied anthropologists collaborate with the policy planners and

administrators?

Ans. The collaboration made by the applied anthropologist may be classified

into several situations as -(i) Anthropologist act as consultant on the staff and

usually functions under the control of the administrators but is an outsider, not

on regular payroll of the organization, (iii) anthropologist and the

administration work together as co-administrators working together as co-

administrators, (iv) an anthropologist is, at least temporarily in actual change

of the development of the development programmed.

3. What, according to Tylor, does culture do for man?

Ans: Tylor showed that culture liberates man from slavery to biological

determinism by providing him with ` artifacts', `agrofacts', menifacts', and

`socifacts' (i.e. culture). Culture enables man to secure his biological

(personal) and social (collective) survival. Culture bestows upon man the gift

of freedom.

4. Describe in brief the contribution of Raymond Firth in the field of Applied

Anthropology.

Ans: Raymond Firth envisaged the role of anthropology to be social

engineering after Westermann had modestly defined it to be the scientific

collection and interpretation of culture data. Firth pointed out the need to bring

together primitive societies and civilization without letting the former suffer

from disintegration. This task of bridging the gulf between the primitive and

the modern was regarded by Firth as the legitimate task of applied

anthropology and was called `social engineering' by him. Firth was deeply

conscious of the fact that an anthropologist cannot do as much as he might in

view of the fact he cannot interfere in matters of policy. Therefore, Firth said,

the anthropologist was more like a doctor who advises rather than live and

engineer who builds.
