Lord William Bentinck introduced the Mahalwari System of land revenue in the year 1833.

He was the Governor-General of India from 1828 to 1835.

It was presented in the North-Western parts of India and also in Agra, Gangetic Valley and Central Provinces.

This system was derived from the Zamindari and Ryotwari System of land revenues.
