Panchsheel was introduced in 1954 by Jawaharlal Nehru and Chou-En-Lai.
They signed an agreement containing five principles of peaceful co-existence. These
principles are collectively known as Panchsheel which became the guidelines for the non-aligned movement to evolve.
These five principles were:
1. Mutual non-interference in each other's internal affairs.
2. Mutual non-aggression.
3. Equality and mutual benefit.
4. Mutal respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty
5. Peaceful co-existence.
