Alauddin Khilji captured the Hoisal kingdom of Dwarasamudra by defeating King Veera Ballala III. Thereafter in 1311, he captured the Pandya kingdom of Telangana, by defeating King Maravarman Kulasekhara. His major conquests were in the north from the Indus to Bengal he conquered the regions from the Himalayas to Vindhyas.  Alauddin Khilji then turned his sights towards southern India and the Deccan.
