Laboratory thermometer was also discovered by Gabriel Daniel Fahrenheit in the same year 1714.
☆ The normal body temperature of a human being is 98.6° F.
☆ Thermometer is usually a glass tube marked with a scale. It contains a glass bulb. This bulb is filled with mercury.
☆ To measure the temperature, a thermometer is put inside the mouth, under the tongue or placed under the armpit of a person for 1 minute.
☆ The mercury in the bulb of the thermometer expands due to the heat of the body but when the mercury cools, it cannot flow back unless given a sharp push by giving a j-rk.
☆ The scale marked on the thermometer shows the degree of the patient's temperature.
