He split white light into Red,Orange,Yellow,cyan,Green and Blue beams,After that he combined the two spectrums by joining their ends together to show the natural progression of colors.

Colours are formed by the absorption of the light rays emitted from Sun.... which are of different shades and we assume them colours and also name them yellow green blue etc. As the light from any object fall on our eyes then we are able to see that object and assume its colour according to the absorption of light... colour is not invented it was naturally in the Earth surface and the people just named the different types of shades as colours.. when the light falls on that very object and then from that very object to our eyes and we are able to see the colour according to the light rays.... the green colour we get from leaves.... the red colour we get from our blood and one new thing that white and black are not the colours they are just absorptions of light....
