Sir James Alfred Ewing was born in 27 March 1855 and died in 7 January 1935. He was an eminent physicist, engineer and academic who is remember primarily for his work on the magnetic properties of metals. Alfred Ewing became director of naval education.Ewing was born in Dundee, He is the son of a church minister.Ewing was appointed as professor of applied mechanics at King's College, Cambridge, where he developed his earlier work on the magnetic properties of metals.
